Tips for Making the Mashed Potatoes
Cut the potatoes into similarly sized cubes so they cook evenly.
Drain the boiled potatoes thoroughly before mashing them. Excess cooking water can make the finished potatoes thinner than intended.
Mash the potatoes while they are still warm, then add the sauce, cheddar and garlic. Add the butter and salt gradually so you can adjust both to taste.
What Does HOLY CHIPOTLE! Sauce Add?
HOLY CHIPOTLE! Marinade & Cooking Sauce is a mild, tangy New Mexico sauce that can be used for marinating, simmering and dipping.
In this recipe, one-half cup seasons the potatoes while adding moisture and chipotle flavor. The sauce pairs with the cheddar, garlic and butter without requiring a long list of additional seasonings.
What to Serve With Chipotle Cheddar Mashed Potatoes
Serve these potatoes with roasted or grilled chicken, pork, beef or vegetables. They can replace traditional mashed potatoes whenever you want a Southwestern-flavored side dish.
